Stelton’s roots go back to the 1960s, when the company became known throughout Scandinavia and beyond for its steel tableware. Its true development as a design brand, however, came in the 1970s, when the famous Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen decided to help his son-in-law Peter Holmblad, then director of Stelton. Holmblad believed that only new and innovative designs would make the company stand out and achieve lasting success. He was a strong manager with a bold vision, but not a successful designer. When he showed his ideas to Arne Jacobsen, Jacobsen dismissed them and decided to create a new line himself. This led to the famous Cylinda-Line collection, which won the prestigious ID Prize in 1967. In this way, one of the world’s most recognizable design brands was born. Stelton’s vision is to be an innovative, trend-setting home accessories brand rooted in Scandinavian design philosophy – a first choice for people who actively seek good design to enrich everyday life. The story of Holmegaard began in 1823, when Count Christian Danneskiold-Samsøe asked the King of Denmark for permission to build a glassworks on the peat bogs of Holmegaard Mose. The marshland was an ideal location because the peat could provide the fuel needed to achieve the high temperatures required in a glass furnace. The Count died in 1823 before receiving the King’s reply, but his widow, Countess Henriette Danneskiold-Samsøe, decided to continue her husband’s project. Once permission was granted, production began in 1825. At first, the glassworks produced only simple green bottles, but Countess Henriette had more ambitious plans. She wanted transparent drinking glasses as well, so skilled glassmakers from Bohemia were brought in specially for the task. Over the centuries, the small glassworks at Holmegaard grew into an internationally renowned producer of artistic glass, combining respect for tradition with a modern outlook. To this day, outstanding glass artists from Denmark and beyond continue to design for the brand. Much has changed since 1825, but the guiding ambition remains the one set by Countess Henriette Danneskiold-Samsøe: to create glass with soul, heart and true craftsmanship.

Goldsmith and designer Kay Bojesen had a very special talent – he could breathe life into an ordinary piece of wood. In the 1930s, he created a rich collection of wooden figures that became recognized around the world and were often said to possess both a soul and a mischievous sense of humor. For generations, Kay Bojesen has been regarded as an icon of the playful side of Danish industrial design. Today, he is considered one of the greatest and most popular Scandinavian designers. He retained his childlike curiosity and natural joy of life until the end of his days, and when he passed away at the age of 72, he entrusted his legacy to his four grandchildren. Today, with the support of the Bojesen family, Rosendahl Design Group proudly produces, develops and distributes Kay Bojesen’s well-known designs, sharing the vision of this celebrated designer with audiences around the world.

Arne Jacobsen Clocks is part of Rosendahl Design Group. Its portfolio includes a complete range of wall clocks, alarm clocks and weather stations designed by one of the world’s most famous modernist designers, Arne Jacobsen. These are premium-quality products based on original designs created between the 1940s and the 1970s, and they are still regarded today as true icons of Scandinavian design.

Lyngby Porcelain was founded in 1936 in the small town of Lyngby, north of Copenhagen, as a producer of porcelain tableware, vases and designer home accessories distinguished by fine craftsmanship and high manufacturing quality. By the time the factory closed in 1969, Lyngby Porcelain had already established a strong reputation for unique, distinctive products combining premium quality with functionality. The story of Kähler began in 1839, when potter Holstein Herman J. Kähler opened a small ceramics workshop in the Danish town of Næstved. A true milestone came later, when his son Herman A. Kähler took over the workshop in 1875 and transformed it through the production of internationally recognized art ceramics, creating one of the great success stories in Danish ceramic history. With craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation and a deep understanding of the versatile potential of clay, Kähler has remained at the forefront of Danish ceramic art for more than a century.
